Msc-Nuclear Science and Technology.

The Nuclear Science and Technology MSc is delivered by a consortium of ten Universities and Institutes (Nuclear Education Training Consortium), ensuring that research and teaching expertise is available across the whole programme.

The consortium partners represent more that 90% of the nuclear postgraduate teaching expertise that resides in the UK's Universities and Research Institutes.

Programme outline: Nuclear Science and Technology MSc

The programme is available on a full-time or part-time basis. Students should choose four core modules, four elective modules and complete a project and dissertation to the value of 180 credits.

Students who do not proceed to the dissertation may qualify for a Diploma (120 credits) (four core modules plus four elective modules) or a Certificate (60 credits) (four core modules).

Each module will accrue 15 credits, requiring approximately 150 hours application. The core of each module is one week's direct teaching at the institution delivering the module.

• Reactor Physics, Criticality and Design
• Nuclear Fuel Cycle
• Radiation and Radiological Protection
• Criticality Safety Management

Elective modules are drawn from Decommissioning, Environment and Safety and Nuclear Technology.
